‘Fund Look Through’ unlocks sustainability insights for portfolios consisting of more than just company issuers

Gone are the days when users had to manually search for and upload a portfolio's funds’ underlying issuers. Matter’s platform can now provide sustainability insights not just for individual company issuers, but for an entire portfolio spectrum. With 'Fund Look Through', users can explore every mutual fund and ETF present in their portfolio. This allows users to view the aggregated sustainability insights for every issuer in a portfolio, whether they are individual companies, mutual funds, ETFs, or a mix of them all.

On top of that, this also means that if portfolios typically were a mix of individual companies and funds, users can expect an improvement in the match percentage of their uploaded portfolios.

Let us do your heavy lifting

In the past, if a portfolio contained both individual companies and mutual funds or ETFs, platform users faced the task of either consulting their fund data providers or searching through the rarely disclosed lists of underlying issuers of funds, often having to rely on approximate information when precise data was unavailable. The ‘Fund Look Through’ feature is designed for users of the Matter platform to avoid this, and to save hours of manually searching for the underlying issuers of mutual funds and ETFs in their portfolios. Additionally, it helps to reduce the risk of errors in recalculating the weights of these underlying issuers within funds.

We open up the funds to unpack their underlying impact

We show users’ sustainability insights on an aggregate portfolio level, as well as per single issuer covered in the portfolio, including those that are in portfolios through mutual funds and ETFs. If it is unclear how a particular issuer and its sustainability impact made its way into a portfolio, we furthermore show which funds the underlying issuers come from.

High data coverage and daily updates

Coverage: The new feature covers approximately 53,000 different ETFs and mutual funds.

Update frequency: We use the latest available data from our data provider, Factset.
